Always a pleasing experience, dinner at Bistro V offers delicious food, and very friendly waiters and staff. The restaurant is a favorite of Party with Moms. On a very hot and humid evening, we decided to share everything, starting with crisp and refreshing Caesar salads. The calamari appetizer is a meal in itself – lightly fried and served with both chili and aioli sauce, both delicious and providing an alternating taste experience with each bite....

Written by - Marianne Riess T. S. Eliot started his famous poem “The Wasteland” with the line “April is the cruelest month.” We can only hope those words hold true, and that the worst of Covid-19 will be behind us as we enter May and look forward to summer. The virus has turned lives upside down, even for those lucky enough to avoid catching it. Who could have imagined children missing 3 months of school before...

How much can anyone cook? It is nice to take a break by ordering curbside takeout or delivery from a local restaurant. You treat yourself and family, and help the restaurant owner and staff. Last night’s dinner special from Bistro V (Versailles) was a pan-seared salmon, with accompanying lemon caper sauce over tender asparagus, brussel sprouts and pickled cabbage. Party with Moms can affirm that it was really, really good.   Written by - Anne Martine Cook Dear Everyone,   Our beloved Versailles and Meli-Melo are suffering. As we send our love and heartfelt sadness to each dear employee, we can help in other ways. They are offering wonderful curbside take-out, alternating their staff chances to work.    Please consider any amount. The price of a croissant and jam, the price of a Napoleon, the price of a quiche, the price of a glass of wine, the price of a buttery...

Need a lift? Here’s what you can do to give yourselves a treat and help struggling restaurants in town. Take out a delicious lunch or dinner! Here are some recommendations from Party with Moms. Boxcar Cantina We actually did a small take out party from Boxcar last Sunday. We ordered their fresh margarita mix and made our own, which we sipped along with their homemade chips, guacamole and salsa. For dinner, we had Chicken Tinga soft tacos...

Party with Moms decided last week to have a late working lunch at Versailles, or Bistro V as it is also known. Two of us went in after 1:30. By that time the lunch rush was over, but the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating or happy to see us. We decided to order 3 items we hadn’t tried before, and share everything. But first we each ordered a beer. Allagash and Stella Artois are two favorites...

Originally, Versailles was primarily a bakery specializing in French pastries, quiches, croissants, fruit tarts and opera cakes. A huge pastry counter dominated the front half of the restaurant, displaying their delicious wares. In the last 5 years, Versailles has become Bistro V, an all-day French café serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The interior has been completely and very tastefully redecorated. A bar has replaced the pastry counter. Bistro V still makes the best croissants in town,...

What do you love to do with your children? How old are they? And what is your greatest wish for them? I have two boys, ages 3 1/2 and 2, and we love to explore together!  We moved to Abu Dhabi two years ago- and even now, so much feels new!  The desert is a favorite spot since the weather has cooled down here.  We love to cook out, hike the dunes and play in the...

What do you love to do with your children? How old are they? And what is your greatest wish for them? My son, Uzi is 5 years old and my daughter, Wallis is 15 months.  I love taking them to the beach- no electronics, just good old fashion sand, water, and wind.  My greatest wish is that they are self-confident and they find careers that are gratifying to them. When and where are you the happiest? I am...
