Party with Moms is excited to welcome Backcountry Bar & Grill to our town. You can find it at the Griffith E. Harris Golf Club restaurant, as a huge upgrade from previous occupiers of the space. Backcountry Bar & Grill wants to be a destination dining option for people who love barbecued ribs, smoked brisket, pulled pork, smoked turkey and other delicious options. More good news – unlike previous occupants, they have a full liquor license.

You can’t beat the setting, right on the beautiful Griff golf course. In addition to the bar and dining room, the outdoor terrace now has a fire pit with heaters coming soon. Picture yourselves relaxing over a cocktail and delicious dinner on the terrace while your kids run around in the snow! Or enjoy watching games on the giant TVs in the dining room and bar, while sampling their juicy Angus burger and some of their great sides. Party with Moms had a little tasting there recently and we can vouch for the lean and tender ribs, the delicately smoked turkey breast (which you can order by the pound for Thanksgiving), and the wonderful Backcountry brisket.

The owner, Steve Leininger, hails from the Hill Country around San Antonio, Texas, as does the whole kitchen crew. They serve authentic Texas-Style BBQ cooked in two custom smokers (18 & 23 feet) outside the restaurant so they can cook the meat slowly and on low heat for hours. Everything is made fresh daily on the premises, including the chipotle and barbecue sauces. The staff also can do catering at your location – they can feed up to 300 people! Or if you would like take-out, all the dishes can be ordered by the pound. During the off (golf) season, Steve wants to host private parties – kids parties, charity events, office parties, fun get-togethers. Just contact him and everything can be arranged to your total satisfaction.
