September 18, 2018 11:11 am Greenwich Prime Meats – Incorporating Greenwich’s Past, Present and Future in One Small Shop
There is no substitute for quality. Greenwich Prime Meats offers a perfect example. Prime speaks for itself, whether you are in the mood for burgers, steaks, and filets, or more into pork roasts, ribs or lamb. This is not supermarket meat. Prime steaks are both tender and full of flavor. Choosing between Ribeye, Porterhouse, NY Strip or Sirloin is hard, but whatever you pick will be delicious.
If you haven’t been to Greenwich Prime Meats on Bruce Park Avenue, definitely pay a visit. The walls are covered with photos and posters from the old Manero’s, a famous restaurant and butcher shop from Greenwich’s past. The owner, Sal Genario has preserved their tradition of excellent quality food and friendly, super-polite service. He, Dennis, David, Noel and Alex are on hand to help you choose, and give you advice on how to cook your selection to perfection. Their menu also pays homage to Manero’s by offering some trademark foods from the old place.
One of the best-kept secrets of Greenwich Prime Meats is their prepared food. They offer homemade lasagna, eggplant parm, chicken francese or marsala, shepherd’s pie and many other perfectly flavored dishes to take out and warm up for your family’s delight. A Party with Moms personal favorite — the barbecued ribs, cooked to fall-off-the-bone perfection in your choice of smokey or sweet sauce. Why cook when you can get one of these wonderful dinners, add a gorgonzola salad, and maybe some onion rings or twice baked potatoes, to bring home.
The lunchtime sandwiches are hot and made to order. Probably the favorite choice is the steak tidbit wedge with onions and melted cheese. The chicken parm, sausage & peppers and meatball wedges are excellent too. You may even be able to finish one! Coleslaw, potato salad and sour dill pickles make for some perfect sides.
Whatever you do, don’t forget the signature garlic bread!
