Dougie’s Standby – The Busiest Place Around

Dougie’s Standby – The Busiest Place Around

A little spot on the Greenwich/Port Chester border, Dougie’s continues to feed the world. In the morning, we love their sausage, egg and cheese (ask for cheddar) on a roll, accompanied by their delicious fresh-brewed Colombian coffee.

For lunch, it’s hard to choose between their fresh (never frozen) cheeseburgers, or their great 100% beef Nathan’s hot dogs (add sauerkraut, homemade hot (!!!) chili, onions, cheese and whatever else you can think of). Wednesday is Dog Day – buy one dog and get one free!

Dougie’s offers special sandwiches too – “The Balboa” delicious steak on a garlic wedge with melted mozzarella cheese. “The Healthy Choice” egg whites, turkey, tomato on whole wheat. The grilled chicken club is a must have too. Don’t forget to grab a Stewart’s soda. Dougie’s has all the flavors, and they’re ice cold in the case. You may have forgotten how good they taste.

A steady stream of hungry customers keeps the staff busy, but the service is quick and friendly. Sit inside or outside overlooking the Byram River. If you’re short on time, call ahead and they will have your takeout order ready when you arrive.

Dougie’s – a best-kept secret just down the Post Road, owned by the Zaccagnini family.
