Party with Moms staff showed up at Boxcar around 7 PM to encounter a full house! The bar was packed with a private party. The dining room and front extension were both crowded. Luckily, Jeff was kind enough to find us a tiny table. Over the course of the night, we couldn’t believe how hard our friends on the staff were working.

Still, the Superchief Margaritas were as delicious as ever.  The meals were prepared in good time and to perfection. We began with guacamole and chips, then ordered the Boxcar cheeseburger (served in a flour tortilla, green chiles on the side), the soft Taco plate (three delicious tacos filled with (1) chicken tinga, (2) niman pork and (3) ground beef, all covered with Jack cheese), and the chicken flautas, accompanied by chipotle cream and hot sauce. We loved everything!

We ran into some old friends and it was so nice to catch up after several years. The great thing about being at Boxcar is that everyone seems happy to be there. Later in the evening, when the crowd had thinned a bit, we were able to chat with Romana and Jeff. They said the restaurant is doing really well, and we could certainly understand why.  Next time we will be sure to make a reservation.
