14 Jul Your Child Will Learn to Swim at the Purchase College Aquatic Program
Swimming is a life skill, one that is highly valued by parents. Most of them would love to have their children develop into strong swimmers. Good swimming skills not only make a child safer, but will also breed confidence. At the Purchase College Aquatic Program, your children will have fun while developing into little “fish.”
This summer the program offers two-week intensive sessions at all skill levels. At Level 1, a child will learn to put his face in the water, blow bubbles, and prepare to learn to swim. Level 2 and 3 children will progress from floating, treading water and beginning to swim, to rhythmic breathing, front and back crawl, butterfly kick and a kneeling dive. Safety skills are taught throughout the lessons. Subsequent lessons increase endurance by swimming longer distances, and teach the breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly and sidestroke with increasing stroke proficiency.
The classes are small, and are taught by American Red Cross Water Safety Instructors in a heated pool. Siblings of different abilities can be accommodated in different classes at the same time. Please see the attached brochure for registration.
Give yourself some peace of mind and watch your children become comfortable and competent in the water. You will be amazed at how quickly they learn.
The Program also offers teen and adult classes, lifeguard training and certification, and Water Safety Instructor training.
