September 21, 2015 10:10 am Mom of the Week – Floral Designer and Owner of Bow & Rose, Ines
What do you love to do with your children? How old are they? And what is your greatest wish for them?
When I design floral experiences, they help me come up with new designs each season. We love hanging flowers at our venues and working with local forest branches and greens. My daughter Karen (24) is an architect and my son Mario Pablo (28) is an entrepreneur. My greatest wish is that they learn how to be as gentle and sharp as a rose.
When and where are you the happiest?
That’s simple – when I’m with my family and among flowers.
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Mallorca or Costa Rica. How about both?
Who has had the biggest influence upon you? And what quality do you most admire in a mother?
My husband Mario is a true gentlemen, father and friend. The quality I admire most about my mother Nelly are her family values. She raised 9 of us in Lima, Peru.
What do you like to do for fun?
Laugh, you should try it!
What is one of your favorite books? Movies?
My favorite book is The Secret by Rhonda Byrne and my favorite movie is Casablanca, a classic.
Besides motherhood, what other careers/opportunities have you enjoyed?
I worked in banking for over 20 years. Counting Petals is just like counting Dollars.
What are your strongest qualities?
My smile, just look.
What is your favorite type of food and what do you love to cook?
Quinoa and more Quinoa, I make myself a bowl every morning.
What is your favorite time of the day and why?
Closing time to watch my Novelas (Spanish Soap Operas).
Where is your favorite place to Party with Moms and what’s your favorite drink?
Anywhere with my sisters. We are the party! We will invite you out dancing and to drink some pisco sour, made with pisco liquor, lemon juice, egg whites, and syrup.
On Saturday, September 26th, Bow & Rose will celebrate 100 years of Frank Sinatra.
