Mom of the Week – Brooke Bohnsack, Co-President of Mothers for Others

What do you love to do with your children? How old are they? And what is your greatest wish for them?

Everything. Our boys are our life. We take them everywhere and want to be with them always. Any thing that makes them smile and laugh. We have three boys: Chase is 5; Walker nearly 4; and, Hudson 2. Our greatest wish for them is their happiness.

When and where are you the happiest?

When I’m with my boys.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?

If I had to go anywhere that I’ve been before, having grown up in Manhasset on Long Island, it would be the Hamptons; it’s my happiest place on earth and always brings back such incredible memories. And to a place I’ve never been, St. Barth’s.

Who has had the biggest influence upon you? And what quality do you most admire in a mother?

My parents had and continue to have the biggest impact on me. They always encouraged me and gave me the confidence that I could do anything. Nobody is sweeter and more loving than my mother. She taught me how to be the mother that I am today and how to balance a family and work. Both my parents were entrepreneurs which most recently inspired me to start my own event planning business. The Launch is a full-service boutique event planning business serving New York City, Long Island and the counties of Westchester and Fairfield. We curate events with the idea that process and collaboration should be as fun and carefree as the end result. Personal touches are what we do best. From weddings and children’s birthdays to summer clambakes and winter galas, The Launch will seamlessly manage the details. We’ll work to turn the most celebrated event from a daunting task to a wonderful memory.

What do you like to do for fun?

I always like to get out. Whether on a date with my husband or a night out with the girls, but not much else can top a long run at the beach or a session at Soul Cycle.

Besides motherhood, what other careers/opportunities have you enjoyed? What are your strongest qualities?

I had a wonderful career at the USTA before starting a family. The combination of tennis, which I love, and helping to put on one of the largest events in the world was a blast. We love going back to the Open every year.

I love giving back. I am proud to serve on the board of the Greenwich YWCA, the board of the Junior League of Greenwich, as the co-president of the Parent’s Association of our sons’ school, St. Paul’s Day School in Riverside, as an event co-chair for Make-A-Wish Connecticut, as the co-president of Mothers for Others and on various other committees in support of a wide range of mom-profits in the community.

I like to think of myself as a people person. I love surrounding myself with incredible friends and meeting new people.

What is your favorite time of the day and why?

I love being out at night, but the start of the day is the best. My husband and I are both early risers. I like to get the day going.

Where is your favorite place to Party with Moms and what’s your favorite drink?

A night out in NYC is always the best with the girls. Leave everything at home for a night. My favorite restaurants in Greenwich are Rebeccas, Gabrielle’s, L’escale, and Harvest.
