What do you love to do with your children? How old are they? And what is your greatest wish for them?
I have 3 kids. Spencer (9), Andrew (6) and Margot (3). I love to ski with my two boys- it’s fun for all of us. And I love to shop with Margot. She is a character. We also do a lot of coloring, reading and hiking. My wish for them is that they grow up to be well-rounded, curious, independent and hardworking individuals, that they have many interests and that they pursue them.
When and where are you the happiest?
I love late afternoon in the mountains, especially in the summer. I like to have a glass of wine and look at the way the light hits the hills. Gives me a great sense of peace and gratitude.
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Today? The beach! (It’s 14 degrees in Denver).
What quality do you most admire in a mother? And what woman has had the biggest impression on you?
The quality of being truly present to what is going on. No phone checking, no distractions. Really being a good listener to your kids. My mother has most definitely had the biggest impression on me, though there are so many women I admire and that have made an impression on me. Sense of humor, resilience, zest for life, loving, not sweating the small stuff and having compassion and patience are all traits that impress me.
What is your favorite book? Movie?
SO SO MANY!
Books: Interpreter of Maladies, Jhumpa Lahiri. Mystic River, Dennis Lehane. Starring Sally J Friedman as Herself, Judy Blume. Plainsong, Kent Haruf, A Woman of Independent Means.
Movies: Almost Famous, E.T.
What personal achievement are you most proud of?
I just completed a half marathon.
What do you feel is your strongest talent?
Small Talk! I love people and am interested in them.
What do you like to do for fun?
Ski, hike, happy hour with my BFFs, shop, eat, travel, read, watch TV.
What is your favorite time of the day and why?
8:00 PM- All the kids are in bed and I can truly relax and have some “me” time.
Where is your favorite place to Party with Moms and what’s your favorite drink?
Hillstone Restaurant in Cherry Creek Denver. Chardonnay.
