What do you love to do with your children? How old are they? And what is your greatest wish for them?
My children are 9, 7 and almost 5 and I love to do anything that makes their eyes widen and sparkle, which can be anything from the mummies at the Met to a surprise ice cream run. I also love to read with them and see books unfold new worlds for them.
My greatest wish for my children is that of course they are healthy and happy and that they know how much love there is in their lives, both now and to come. I also really wish that in some part of their lives, they take on the world’s big problems and try to make a dent in them. I hope they both dream big and solve big. We are so blessed and privileged, so giving back or paying forward, however you want to phrase it, is something I really wish for them to embrace.
When and where are you the happiest?
I am happiest when our whole family is together and we are laughing, and under any circumstance on a tennis court.
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
I love traveling in India because you see, experience and internalize something new in each part. And to the South of France just to chill.
Who has had the biggest influence upon you? And what quality do you most admire in a mother?
My parents by far. They are my ultimate role models. They have a boundless sense of optimism, integrity and possibility, and love for their children. The quality I admire most in a mother is optimism—there is so much to do as a mom, and so many roles to play, you have to stay upbeat and believe in the best outcomes.
What do you like to do for fun?
I love to travel with my family, play tennis and have dinner parties. There is something always special about family and friends gathering in a home.
What is one of your favorite books? Movies?
Favorite books—there are too many! Life is Beautiful is one of my favorite movies. It so poignantly entwines the painful and the comedic. And the title, like the movie, is so affirming of the human spirit. I also love the expansiveness, the romance and the storytelling of The English Patient.
What do you feel is one of your strongest qualities?
That I want to do things better tomorrow than I did today. I love to learn, and to push myself, and hopefully that helps my family and my work.
What is your favorite type of food and what do you love to cook?
I love Indian food and am always trying new recipes and concoctions. I also love to cook French food, they are such masters of the exquisite!
What is your favorite time of the day and why?
Late at night when the craziness of the day is declared accomplished and I can read or watch TV.
Where is your favorite place to Party with Moms and what’s your favorite drink?
Anywhere in Paris and with a glass of red wine. I am simple!
