November 18, 2013 4:27 pm Meet Maria Richardson! This Week’s Mom of the Week from Rye, NY!
What do you love to do with your children? How old are they? And what is your greatest wish for them? When and where are you the happiest?
I love to be with my family and watch my children participate in their many sporting events. I have three children; Foster is nine, Molly is nine, and Tommy is eight. We are a very active family and my husband and I enjoy every minute of it! My greatest wish for them is to always feel safe and happy!
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
If I could go anywhere in the world, at this point in my life, I would love to take a family trip to Hawaii. I’ve never been and would love to have that experience with my husband and children.
What quality do you most admire in a mother? And what woman has had the biggest impression on you?
The quality that I most admire in a mother is strength and love. Being a mother is not an easy job but to have these two qualities, and many more of course, you have a great head start. Of course the first and greatest impact usually comes from your own Mother and Grandmother. This true for me watching them as I grew up was such a learning experience for how I wanted to be. However, after getting married and having children I also have such admiration for my Mother in Law. The love that she shows our family is so great.
What is your favorite book? Movie?
My favorite book, an uncomplicated read, would have to be “The Help” it shows strength in so many women. If I must admit, my favorite movies would have to be Grease or 16 Candles. They are fun and I just love the music.
What personal achievement are you most proud of?
My ultimate achievement would have to be meeting a great man and having a wonderful family and life. It makes me very happy.
What do you feel is your strongest talent?
My strongest talent would have to be my career. I’ve been a teacher at Rye Presbyterian Nursery School for 22 years. It’s a wonderful place to work and I feel extremely successful.
What do you like to do for fun?
I like to go out to dinner. It can be a night catching up with old friends or just a simple outing with my family, my kids having Shirley Temples with lots of cherries!
What is your favorite time of the day and why?
My favorite time of the day is the evening. Once everyone is home for the night, homework is done, and we all settle down to read or watch television.
Where is your favorite place to Party with Moms and what do you like to drink?
My favorite place to go in Greenwich would have to be Lululemon. I love to see what is new and fun in the clothing world. I also love to go dinner at Crew it is a very calm and relaxed atmosphere. I have always been a beer drinker but lately my husband and I have been trying out white wines.
