May 13, 2013 5:55 pm Meet Mom of the Week, Alexa Fishback!
What do you love to do with your children? How old are they? And what is your greatest wish for them?
I have 3 boys who are 5, 3, and 1.5. I love to read to them, cook with them, and be outside with them while they forage around or go on family walks. My greatest wish for them is to be kind and content and find some things in life that make them tick.
When and where are you the happiest?
I love to be with Birche sipping on wine and relaxing at a great foodie spot after a long day of parenting!
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Right now I would love a week in the sun somewhere beautiful.
What quality do you most admire in a mother? And what woman has had the biggest impression on you?
Patience, and when you see a mom who lights up around her child instead of seeming bothered by him/her. My own mom was incredible at not sweating the small stuff or over thinking/worrying about everything little thing – she was always a calming presence. And a very positive and upbeat person.
What is your favorite book? Movie?
Favorite books of the moment – Ready Player One and Gone Girl – favorite movies of the moment – End of Watch and This is 40 (should be called this is 35).
What personal achievement are you most proud of?
Going to Penn, writing my book, The Daily Fix, and having a family I love to be with.
What do you feel is your strongest talent?
I think I can have the gift of gab if you catch me at the right time. I am a connector (sounds cheesy) but I can see different points of view.
What do you like to do for fun?
Drink wine and hang with friends, soul cycle and yoga, hanging out in NYC (on my way in now as I type).
What is your favorite time of the day and why?
I love a sunny early morning or late afternoon – sometimes I drag in the middle of the day.
Where is your favorite place to go out in Greenwich? And what do you like to drink?
I love Terra and like to drink rose or crisp white wine; also love lunch at Meli Melo.
