Layng Martine, Jr. Pens Heartwarming Memoir

Layng Martine, Jr. Pens Heartwarming Memoir

Party with Moms is honored to announce that Remy’s uncle, Layng Martine, Jr. has written the story of his adventurous life and his journey to find himself as a songwriter, husband, and father.

Permission to Fly, A Memoir of Love, Crushing Loss and Triumph, has been called a “love letter to the journey of a free life.” It describes Layng’s determination to live as he wanted, while writing songs and supporting his family. Along the way, he overcame mistakes, failure and adversity and was eventually elected to the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. Layng wrote hundreds of songs, including hits for Elvis Presley, Reba McEntire, the Pointer Sisters, Trisha Yearwood and many others.

Layng’s son Tucker, himself a music producer, described the book as “a priceless gift to me, and my kids and their kids and their kids.” We think this book is a gift to anyone who is adventurous and wants to create a life that is off the beaten path.

Layng and his wife Linda live in Nashville and spend summers in Watch Hill, RI where they have raised three sons. They now have four grandsons. Their funny, sad, happy, inspirational story will stay in your mind forever!
