Mother of 3, Professor Heather Klemann – An Original Comedic Interview

What do you love to do with your children? How old are they? And what is your greatest wish for them?

My children are 6, 4, and 3. We play UNO. My greatest wish is that they develop a sense of humor. They’ll need it.

Who has had the biggest influence upon you?

The good people who manufactured my coffee maker—my hat is off to you.

What quality do you most admire in a mother?

I don’t know about moms, but I can’t resist a dad wearing a Baby Bjorn. My husband donned one for a coffee run in ’Sconset and it was all “hey, eyes up here.”

Besides motherhood, what other careers/opportunities have you enjoyed? And what are your strongest qualities?

Besides motherhood, I’m a teacher by profession. The eyes in the back of my head come in handy while doing work at the blackboard.

Were you happiest in elementary, middle high school or college? Please explain why.

I’ve made it a lifelong goal to never leave college.

What do you like to do for fun and what is your idea of a perfect day?

I recently spent eight hours in a Delta terminal at La Guardia with three small children and then our flight to Akron/Canton was cancelled. Exhausted, defeated, and poorly fed, on our way back home my children car-danced like maniacs to the Trolls soundtrack, and I thought, you know, this is pretty great.

What is one of your favorite books? Movies?

Mo Willems’s We Are in a Book and Kubrick’s The Shining–both hauntingly brilliant.

What is your favorite type of food and what do you love to cook?

Food cooked on a grill.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?

I don’t care where I go, but I would like a self-driving car to take me there.

Where is your favorite place to Party with Moms and what’s your drink of choice?

“Party” is seldom a verb for me; I do like coffee.
