Cabaret – A Special Theatre Event Benefiting Clothes To Kids of Fairfield County – Oct. 13th!

A special theatre event will be held at Curtain Call in Stamford on Thursday, October 13 to benefit Clothes To Kids of Fairfield County (CTKF). The event will kick off at 6 PM with a cocktail party and silent auction at The Royal Green, followed by a private performance of the classic Broadway hit “Cabaret” at The Kweskin Theatre.

“Curtain Call Theatre Company is a gem in our community, offering outstanding theatre productions. We are thrilled to include their production of Cabaret as part of our special fundraiser event,” says Elaine Rubinson, CTKF executive director.

Guests will enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres before the show while browsing a variety of items available for prize drawings and silent auction. “A new feature for us this year is online bidding for some of the items in our silent auction, so people who are unable to join us in person can still participate and support our mission,” says Rubinson.  “Every donation is so important. New families apply for assistance every week, so we depend on the generosity of our community for financial support as well as donations of quality new and used clothing.”

CTKF’s mission is to provide new and quality used clothing and shoes free of charge to school-age children in financial need in Fairfield County, so that they can attend school with the confidence and self-esteem needed to achieve academic success. Their unique approach is a boutique-like setting where children work with a personal shopper to choose the clothing and shoes they like best. Each eligible child in grades K-12 can shop twice a year by appointment for a full week’s wardrobe for school that includes 7 pairs of new socks and underwear, 2 new sports bras, 4 pants or skirts, 5 tops, a pair of shoes or boots, a seasonal coat, and accessories such as a hat and gloves.
